Johnny Unitas.
There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team

I watched "A Football Life" on Terry Bradshaw. He didn't throw that often but he loved dropping long dimes.

The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

He's become a bit of a joke, but danger russ throws a gorgeous deep ball. Just drops it in the bucket.

While I appreciate that most of the posters here at BFO were seasoned football fans well into their fifties in 1980, I was unfortunately too busy being born to devote much time to watching the NFL that year. The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 3:45 amNo love for The Polish Rifle?RustinFields wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 3:39 pm He's become a bit of a joke, but danger russ throws a gorgeous deep ball. I don't remember seeing Jaws play. My real football fandom started in the late 80's.

C.J. . He never played football and his home life was always turbulent. I'm pretty sure hes dead now. I've never seen someone throw a football better though. Him just fucking around he could with a flick of the wrist throw a laser, and throw it through the uprights from the 50. RIP.
For the Bears Cutler. However that half of a season with Jim Miller to Marcus Robinson was magic.
Otherwise Elway or Mahomes.

Many great votes here. My initial choice would've been Elway. But I'm a bit biased because I moved to Denver the year he was drafted. The crazy thing was the way he'd scramble left and heave it back to the right. IMO, he's the most dangerous outside the pocket passer ever. It was magical and his receivers--at least early on--were just OK.
Daryl Lamonica was an excellent, more under the radar choice. Hat tip on that one.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".
