I'll jump in first. I'm absolutely not buying the Bears early on. Everything starts up front. Their OL can't possibly have any continuity whatsoever. And their DL is average at best. No thanks.
Packers 23
Bears 16
Edit. Changed later.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".
It was nice to hear Eberflus say all starters are slated to play Week 1 except for Jenkins.
That being said, I am a beaten down Bears Fan and until otherwise proven, the Packers have owned us for the past 30 years (Good Lord).
I haven't watched enough of Jordan Love to know if he's any good, but if the past three decades have taught me anything it is to not write off "the next Packers QB" until you have sufficient reason to do so. Shit, we lost a game to Brett fucking Hundley when Rodgers was hurt. BRETT HUNDLEY!
I dunno. I don't think our team is firing on all cylinders; I felt our offense looked pretty awful against Buffalo (yes, it's pre-season game three). However, the offensive line has no continuity, who knows what rapport Fields has with Claypool (if any), and how is the defense going to play with all the starters out there?
I'm expecting a slow start and either we fold and get steamrolled or we fight and lose a close one.
This is one of the biggest games in recent memory, pretty sure all of us will be crushed if the don't win this game. I got faith in the squad now that Flus has said everyone but Jenkins is playing.
I have a hard time believing either team will look stellar week 1, but we have a better QB.
Bears 17
Packers 3
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!
I think the tide turns Sept. 10th. The long-time hold that the Packers have had over our Beloved comes crashing down. Jordan Love has looked good in preseason, but it's just that. Preseason. Let's see how he does against non-vanilla defenses.
In the end, this is a rout. JF1 two TD's through the air and one on the ground. DJ Moore scores, Kmet scores, and Foreman scores. This one is never really close;

Love to Watson for 75+ yards - beating Stevenson - makes it 28-13.
Alexander hits Justin Fields for a pick six making the final score Packers 35, Bears 13.
Green Bay wins the game by keeping Fields in the pocket and shutting down the Bear run game. The Bears' pass protection is solid but a lack of continuity ruins the run blocking.
On defense, the still unimpressive defensive front is pushed around by a health Packer oline. A strong Packer run game opens up play action for Jordan Love, who becomes the darling of NFL Network and ESPN for the week. Justin Fields' struggles lead to Mike Tannenbaum's constant "I told you so's" followed by speculation as to whether or not Ryan Poles likes Drake Maye.

Have you ever thought the Bears were going to win a football game?

I hope I am wrong:
Bears - 17
Packers - 23
I don't even know you anymore...
**checks notes**
Since 1992 the Packers are 48-15 against us, average score of 25.1 to 17.3.

Yes Art has.
He can skew pessimistic - but its always a prove it thing - if they prove it he doesn't stick to the pessimistic first take
Also we won 3 games last year so even if he picked 0-17 - He got close
As of today, the pukes receiver core is 3 sophomores and 3 rookies. JJ on Watson, Tyrique on Doubs, Kyler on the rookie Reed. Add in BoJack and Jaquan, and I can smell the coverage sacks already.
I don't know why. Nothing's right about this game except my hatred of the Fromage-Touching Perverts. They've still got more continuity where it counts than we do, and from what we've been able to see they'll hit the game with far more momentum, having proven more to themselves.
Maybe I'm so worked up that I figure the only thing worse than starting the season with a loss to Fritz and The Pussies would be to beat 'em and then watch the rest of the season unravel under the weight of my vaulting optimism. Hey, I'm Irish and Prussian and the sun hasn't been out for two days. This shit comes naturally.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.
Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.
