Prime got his players out of the gate early. I was curious to how this move to CU was going to go. It has a great start.
His son looked really good at QB and Travis Hunter may be a 2 way drafted player.
Anxious to see how the season will progress. I love the message that Sanders give his players.

That game was so much fun.
Prime Time was one of my favorite players growing up. If the Cowboys or 49'ers were on I'd always watch it just to see him.
It's really nice to see the positivity, leadership and motivation he's giving those guys.

As a fringe TCU fan, that was a tough loss and I was pretty caught off guard at how well the Buffs came out and played. I really had no idea what to expect from Sanders at Colorado.
It's a fun story though. I hope he can sustain it.

I have a bad feeling that this will be a nuclear one and done for Deion out in Colorado. He went out after this victory like they just took the title home, lambasting the media and strutting tall. Made a lot of enemies for seemingly no real reason beyond "us against them" feelings he promotes as most coaches do.
By the end of the season if the bottom falls out and Colorado's guys get burnt to a crisp because Sanders has his best player on both sides of the ball, the national media will be pretty cruel, and that magnifying glass will be harsh. We'll see. I'm rooting for him.

This sort of coaching approach usually burns hot and fast. When things start going wrong, everything gets compounded in a hurry.

It’s Harbaugh-esque IMO. These fire and brimstone coaches tend to be great for an initial period, then they’re schtick tends to wear off. I’ve always like Neon Deion, and the Buffalos, and I’m rooting for them both to do well.wab wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:03 amYeah, this is what I mean by "I hope he can sustain it".UOK wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 8:05 am I have a bad feeling that this will be a nuclear one and done for Deion out in Colorado. Not sure Prime could work in the NFL. I like his message to his players. The guy can be inspirational. That is hard for me to say as I had a strong dislike of him as a player.

He'd have to rely heavily on coordinators and be more of the CEO/Motivator/high level strategy type HC - which absolutely can work. We are seeing more and more of this in the NBA, where young guys who are really close to the age of the players are getting HC gigs. Former players close to the same age of current players - they can connect with them differently. I think we are going to see it more and more in the NFL, Ryans in Houston is a middling example (he still did some rounds as a coordinator), but Josh McCown was nearly hired and that would have been a big example of this sort of thing. Jeff Saturday is another example, it didn't stick but almost...
It's gonna happen soon I bet.

"It's tough. My kids rankings are tough," Sanders said to reporters. "It's a serious run right now, it really is."
Sanders went on to claim he's not alone as a parent who ranks their kids. "I'm the only one that's honest about ranking my kids. You guys act like you love all of them the same and you don't," he said, adding, "I don't know why y'all act like that."

Things got real in a hurry, eh?
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.
Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.
