VJJ is head and shoulders above Claypool, so there's that.
“It’s important that we have fun during this process,” Eberflus said. “You know, this is still a game. We want to have fun in the process. We want to do it together."

There was a distinct lack of him in tonights game. I didn't look up if he was actually inactive, but if so... finally!

Here’s a look at the Bears’ inactives:

QB Justin Fields
DB Terell Smith
LB Tremaine Edmunds
DL Dominique Robinson
WR Velus Jones Jr.
FB Khari Blasingame
OL Nate Davis

We could have used Blasingame last night. Hope the 10 day break is enough time for him to heal up.
As I've been saying the past few weeks, VJJ was WR insurance while ESB was out. With ESB active then VJJ could be bumped to inactive. Don't know how much longer before he ends up on the PS, or if Poles is worried that VJJ could be poached by another DESPERATE team.
San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

There are better players than VJJ that a desperate team could get sitting at home right now watching on Sundays. We'd only be so lucky if someone would poach him. He shouldnt be viewed as insurance for anyone, he can't play football.

Eberflus when asked about VJJ:

“If somebody sits down because of penalty or inconsistent play and somebody comes up because they are more consistent, that’s where it is.
We are always going to make the best decision for our roster to win the game.”

Speaking of which -

What was up with the Bears flexing (PS TE) Carlson instead of (PS FB) Burns?

If they don't trust Burns to fill in at FB when there's an injury, WTF is he here for?
And, on top of that, why would you use up a PS elevation for Carlson, then use him for ONE ST snap and ZERO offensive snaps? Double WTF?

ESB was questionable going into the game. If he had a setback, they probably figured Carlson could better fill in for what they had been game planning to do all week, but ESB played the whole game.

Bears returner Velus Jones’ path to return: ‘Keep developing’

Receiver/returner Velus Jones has a path toward returning — at some point.

The Bears made Jones a healthy scratch Thursday, five days after he was whistled for a facemask penalty while covering a punt against the Saints.

“He’s got to just work his tail off in practice,” special teams coordinator Richard Hightower said. “He’s got to keep developing and he’ll have a chance out there to compete. We’re always going to try to put the best guys out there for that game to win that week. It can change week-to-week. He’s just to keep going about his business the right way.”

Hightower said his practice performance Wednesday was one of his best of the year.

Can he develop himself right off the team? That'd be okay with me.
KFFL refugee.

Too bad we didn’t package him with Claypool.

Perhaps they tried but instead of the Dolphins giving their 2025 sixth-round pick to the Bears and getting the Bears 2025 seventh-round pick back they would have insisted it was the other way around.

Velus is doing everything he can to get back into his coach's good graces. He even offered to wash Hightower's car after practice!

Sadly that almost looks like my kids trying to wash their cars.
