"None of us are in the board room, locker room, or on the sideline, so in a way, we don't know shit."
- Otis Day
The Saints have a decent defense, and their offense is pretty good. I'm always doubtful of Derek Carr. I think he's a less talented Kirk Cousins. Their receivers don't really scare me, but they do have Kamara. Of course though...this is the Bears. Which means we aren't competitive against mediocre/middle of the pack teams. Unless of course the blind squirrel Getsy finds a nut and ends up with the right game plan. I really thought that the Bears defense had turned a corner against the Raiders...until the last game...when they were terrible. So I am not expecting the Bears to be able to stop Air Carr and the marginal offense of the Saints. I expect that Bagent will play well in his third start. He'll be efficient, accurate, but not all that dynamic. We get a few scores, but are never really in this one. My only caveat is that if the Bears decide to go to DJ Moore early and often, it could be a lot closer.
Bears got this easy, as Bagent throws for 3TD's and runs another 2 in.
Bears 38
Saints 10
Some other interesting stats from the game, VJJ bounces back with an impressive state line of 12/18/4/2 (12 Gaffes/18 Flubs/4 Goofs/2 Faux Pas) and Dplank breaks the record in chat for thinly veiled criticisms of Bagent (previous record holder was... checks notes... dplank with 33 times last week).
The Saints aren't the Chargers and Derek Carr isn't Justin Herbert. I think the defense has a bounce back game and Bears win this one on offense similarly to how they won the Raiders game.
Dennis Allen is one of the better defensive minds in the game. He'll likely be able to confound and confuse young Tyson Bagent. Sweat likely won't be fully ready to go by Sunday.
I don't even know what to say. You it's bad when I'm having a hard time coming up with how we win a game, but I'll my best.
JJ realizes his shot at being traded is gone and needs to further bad his stats in his hopes to get paid serious coinage. Sweat only has a few days to get the playbook down, so they have him simply learn the plays where is role is "see QB, kill QB."
Sweat pulls a "Mack attack" and logs 6 sacks despite only being in on 15 passing plays and throws in another 4 QB hits and 5 QB hurries for a perfect 100% impact on every play.
On two of those hurries, JJ collects 2 picks, including a pick six and one of the sacks by Sweat is a strip fumble that Robinson scoops up for a 15 yard TD score.
The superdome is a tough environment and the Bears defense is dead to me once again. I agree with dplank, I think it's going to be a long day for our Bears.
this is a game the Bears can win, but they can't make any mistakes, which means Jones needs to be on the inactive list since the Bears simply refuse to part ways with his bumbling ass
however, Bears being the Bears, mistakes will happen ... newly acquired Montez Sweat will make an immediate impact with 2 sacks, but then leave the game with an apparent leg injury and ends up not playing the rest of the season as he studies who he actually wants to sign with in the off season

“It’s important that we have fun during this process,” Eberflus said. “You know, this is still a game. We want to have fun in the process. We want to do it together."
Bagents last game this season (sorry).
He’s going to perform.
Sweat is going to force a fumble and run it in for a TD
Sanborn is going to get a pick 6.
DJ Moore gets a TD
Cairo kicks 6 field goals.
The saints are a talented team that haven’t really found their groove on offense. Lately though they’ve been hyper focused on Kamara and it’s working. The defense is top 5

Yeah, it's funny, the meat of their offense is dump passes to Kamara. As long as we dont have our linebackers sitting 15 yards back in zones watching him catch passes, we'll be fine.
Think the Saints pull it out but we have a bounce back game of sorts

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!
Bagent continues to impress, eludes Saints pass rush and connects on a deep TD pass. More QB controversy to continue. RoJo has nice bounce back game.
Bears D embraces HITS philosophy and actually wraps up on tackles. Gordon's turn for the pick-6.

San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.
