If we're in the market for a new QB, I'm in the early stages of watching film on Jayden Daniels. I'm not a fan of Caleb Williams. There is definitely better draft value in Daniels right now. This can change after the combine and playoffs/bowl games/senior bowl practices/interviews...etc. if Daniels rises even more. But being able to pair Daniels with one of his WR's Nabers or Thomas could give the kid an upper hand in the familiarity department.

I like MHJR as much as the next guy, but if waiting for one of the LSU guys means more draft capital in other areas I'm OK with the slight down grade at WR since we have DJ Moore already

Does anyone have severe reservations about Daniels, Thomas, Nabers that I can look for as I watch youtubes?

I’m very high on all three. If the season ended today, I’d be more than fine with trading down and taking Daniels at 5.

Nabers is a top-10 pick.

Brian Thomas is rising, but he’s fuckin’ good. Size, length, hands, speed. He didn’t have much production in 2022, but I think it’s because of Kayshon Boutte. He had a ton of hype, and was projected to be drafted as high as day one in the offseason, so I think LSU were committed to making him the guy across from Nabers.

There’s going to be talk of whether Daniels made his receivers better, or vice versa, but I think all three are just super talented. In LSU’s 3 losses, the defense gave up an average of 47 points. They lost to Ole Miss 55-49. There aren’t really any holes in the offense.

Doesn’t look like a ton of production from the backs, but it’s pretty good in terms of carries. Like, Daniels ran it 135 times, and their top two rushers had 161 carries combines.

If, as expected, Daniels wins the Heisman Saturday, the hype train will gin up even more (like the mixed metaphors?). I've seen him as high as 7th in some mocks. Looking at the Parcells criteria for a QB:

Are they a college senior - he's a 5th year guy
Are they a college graduate - we'll see
Did they start three or more years - yes
Did they start 30 or more games - yes
Did they win 23 or more games - yes
Did they throw 2 or more touchdown passes for each interception - yes
Is their completion percentage above 60% - yes
I'll add: Did they throw at least 1000 passes - yes

Nabers will make some team very happy. He could be lethal with Moore.

Daniels graduated from Arizona State before transferring to LSU.

And he won the Davey O'Brien and Heisman awards this year. Would he be a guy Poles would look at a bit lower in the 1st round? Although not much lower, his stock is shooting up.

Hard to believe that Daniels makes it out of the top 5-8 at this point.

For teams not wanting to sell the farm to move up to #1 or #2, he'll get a hard look. Raiders, maybe Falcons?

I watched him 3 or 4 times this season, and I am definitely not sold. But who knows when it comes to QBs.

It was disappointing that he and other star LSU players didn't play in their bowl game (although understandable). I wanted to see him and Nabers.
I don't know if Brian Thomas, WR, played, he might slip into the lower 1st round. There are also some LSU DL guys who are moving up the draft board.

The more of Nabers I watch, the more I see Steve Smith Sr.
Thomas reminds me of the Saints' Michael Thomas, but he made a living going against teams' weak side zone as they tried to limit Nabers.
So many first round WRs with serious talent in this draft. A few bigger X WRs.
