A ranking of the 41 bowl games with a short blurb explaining the ranking.
Posting as much for a concise list of each game and when to watch as anything
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Jan. 1 used to be the greatest sports day of the year. 4 bowl games with conference champs and the top independents. A solid day of nothing but watching college games. Some truly great ones (Texas-Notre Dame Cotton Bowls of the late '60s, Penn State-Alabama and Penn State-Miami in Sugar Bowls). Yes, there wasn't a playoff for a national champ, one was "crowned" after the games were played and it was usually subjective; teams got robbed some years but it was fun didn't have the mercenary edge of college ball now.

Transfer portal and NIL have killed all the bowls except the national championship series.

FSU has 26 players out, basically a team of walk ins and 3rd stringers playing. Much the same for the other bowls I have watched.

The playoffs itself has killed the bowls, too.

The transfer portal thing is baffling, though. Why the hell would you have that going on right before the bowls??? It should open right after the last game.

I'm sure it's a timing thing based on standard academic terms.

I have zero issue with the transfer portal, honestly. It beats the heck out of those "student-athletes" being essentially indentured servants to the institution for five years.

The playoff thing is another matter entirely. It's as convoluted as it is because of the existing bowl system, and the NCAA has refused to change anything because of money. They only adopted the changes due to outside pressure and a few oversized checks.

I'm really surprised that NIL money doesnt come with the prerequisite "You have to play every game this season" contract. I sure would be dejected if I was the Columbus-area Kia dealership owner who gave MHJ a brand new Kia Soul, only to have him skip their bowl game.

Fortunately Kia's are great cars for thinking about all of life's transgressions in. Get yourself down to your local Kia dealer and take one for a spin today!

Naw, that's just the usual Iowa offense.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.

The National Championship game will not feature an SEC team for the first time since 2015.

Michael Penix Jr. is a walking injury concern due to his history, and the sixth-year senior turns 24 a month after the 2024 draft.

But man, can the dude play QB.

Tried to watch some of the non-championship bowl games but, man, so many players have elected to not play, it was really hit or miss if the games were even watchable. At least the 2 championship games didn't have that issue, all the guys elected to play. Harbaugh has climbed the mountain and is ready to plant his flag at the summit. Michael Penix is tearing up Texas. He's actually run more times than I've ever seen him do in a game. He's just picking apart the Texas D. Penix to Odunze, an intriguing idea for the Bears.
