so disappointed the Lions flamed out ... I applaud Campbell and his aggressiveness, but there are times, ESPECIALLY in the playoffs, where kicking the field goal is the best option
I thought the Ravens would be better than they were, but then again gotta give credit to the Chiefs for handling them, and shame on me for picking against Mahomes in the playoffs
this should be a good game, but then again we expect all Super Bowls to be good when less than half are

Picking against Mahomes is like picking against Michael Jordan.

I think the 49ers could win, but I don't think they will. I don't see it being a blowout or anything, but I envision the game going kind of like the KC - Baltimore game. That game just never felt like it was in doubt. Hope I'm wrong and we get another thriller like last year's.

When I watch these games with Mahomes, this is no different than Jordan in the late 80s to early 90s. You watch him take on these stacked teams. The Ravens are for real. I think the Ravens could've won the whole thing.LacertineForest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 11:03 am I think the 49ers could win, but I don't think they will. But with both Mahomes and Jordan I watch the games and I'm like, OK, how is he going to win this one?
Playoffs? On the road? Whatever the situation is. Both of those guys find ways to win. That's the allure of watching them. You know they're going to win. It's just a matter of how.

First six seasons as a head coach:
Shanahan: 1-2 in NFC Championship games. 0-1 in the Super Bowl
Reid: 1-3 in NFC Championship games. 0-1 in the Super Bowl.
In his 7th season, Kyle has already done something Reid never did, and that’s make a second Super Bowl with his original team.
I think Shanahan needs this more than anyone, but it would be pretty cool to see the Chief solidify themselves as a dynasty. Don’t really care either way. Hope it’s a good game.

I picked the chiefs because it’s hard to pick against mahomes, and the niners peaked too early in the year, and their defense is severely under performing.
I expect mahomes to pick them apart underneath.

The matchup isn't all that exciting, but I'm hoping it' an entertaining game. I would have preferred Baltimore/Detroit but it's whatever.
Doesn't really matter to me who wins, but I do think Shanny needs it more than Big Red.

This is gonna shock you guys, but here in New England the sentiment is overwhelmingly pro 49ers, purely because it helps preserve Brady's GOAT status.
So go chiefs!

I am rooting for Purdy because it's an incredible underdog story. I think the Chiefs Machine is going to be tough to beat though.Rusty Trombagent wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 1:44 pm This is gonna shock you guys, but here in New England the sentiment is overwhelmingly pro 49ers, purely because it helps preserve Brady's GOAT status.

KC is my team after the Bears (born there) but Brock is making us Iowa State Cyclones proud. KC's offense hasn't been blowing anyone away, it's barely getting the job done but that D is top notch. San Fran's isn't much worse although it's been allowing too many points in the playoffs. I think it gets its act together and the 49ers eke out a relatively low scoring game. More points than KC-Baltimore but not by a lot.

I see they had a horrible little turd with no connection to the NFL presenting the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. What an insult to the late, great man and the winner Cameron Heyward.

First half impressions:
First and foremost pressure is key to a good defense. I really hope we can get another DE this off season even if we have to break the bank a bit.
I really feel for Greenlaw. Guys was just amped up to get on the field and possibly (likely) tore his Achilles.
Kelce is seething. He’s got 1 foot in the retirement box, and he’s pissed he’s getting taken out of the game. Is this Reid or Nagy? Nagy did it here as coach with no real rhythm or reason
I still think it’s anyone’s game, though the 49ers have the momentum and have only been beating themselves with penalties and the fumble. The Chiefs need to go down and score to wrestle that momentum away. Romo gave the game plan away… Chiefs have been relying less on the big play, but need to hit the big play to keep up with the Niners.

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

I expect the Chiefs will make adjustments and win the game. A 7 point lead isn't much.
These Super Bowl half-time shows get worse every year. Is this really what passes for music these days?

Each to their own I guess.
And the 49ers are busy throwing the game away. Totally predictable.

Niners could not take advantage of opportunities, and Mahomes got happy feet where SF did not account for a running QB. Like TMP said, it's similar to Jordan on the Bulls: Mahomes wills his team to a W. Also sickening to see SF not take Kelce into account in the 4th quarter. Niner DB's got taken apart and their DL did not put enough pressure on Mahomes. Difficult task to contain Patty.
San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

Great game, loss of greenlaw and the dang blocked pat loomed large.
Both teams and QBs had their moments, mahomes wins in the end.

Mahommes is Thanos. We haven't reached the Endgame yet so expect more of these Mahommes moments. Inevitable describes him perfectly.
