Let’s hope - an extra game would be dope! Even if it’s just our cast offs out there.
I hope so too. You could view it as a replacement for the game in London and stop moaning about that one! :nana:

I know Pep played here for 4 yrs, but I don't consider him a "Bear." I think of him more as a Carolina Panther.

He also played in GB so that reduces my opinion of him (jk).

I assume he's going in as a Panther, has he said?

I assume he is going in as a Panther and honestly he should. The first 8 years and the last 2 years of his 17 year career were in Carolina. Will always have good memories of his 4 years in Chicago. He was a beast.

So thrilled Mongo is still with us for this upcoming momentous occasion: Drafting Caleb Williams with the first pick. I can only imagine how much it means to him to see the Bears finally aquire a real QB.

That's a great point he made about why he should have been a first ballot guy. When it comes to who is the greatest of all time, people can differ on RB (although those who don't say Walter are wrong!!!!!!!), WR, QB, OL, DL, LB, CB or safety. But there is no argument about who the greatest returner of all time is.

He says his greatest moment in the NFL was his first game in which they played Green Bay. Surprised he didn't say the Super Bowl return. But I'll take it, I have the photo from GB but not the Super Bowl.

Jared Payton is going to introduce McMichael. His wife said they're going to do their dangest to be at the award ceremony. Apparently he has a device which can synthesize speech by reading his eye movements (worked with these back in the day).

Comments from some of Mongo's teammates on his induction:
Mike Singletary:

“For Steve to be in the Hall of Fame, it means that we’re together again in a place that no one can take away from him. In the football world, he’s finally home.”

“I’m not sure Steve really saw himself as a special player, but the greatest asset that Steve McMichael brought to our team was consistency,. He was not really concerned about stats. The most important thing was that you always knew, come hell or high water, Steve was gonna do his job."

“For a middle linebacker, I always knew he was gonna be where he was supposed to be, and that takes all the second-guessing out of it. It makes you play that much faster. It makes all the difference in the world.”
Gary Fencik:

“It’s a victory with an asterisk. We’re happy and celebrating success, but we’re also looking at Steve’s condition.”
Jim McMahon:

“He deserves it on his statistics alone. Plus, he’s a larger-than-life character.”

“It’s gonna mean the world to them. Maybe now he can let go. How he’s survived this long, I don’t know. He’s been through so much, and he’s still here. Hopefully now he hears great news and he can go in peace.”

This one's also worth a watch just to remind us that it wasn't just the TD returns that made Hester special:

Now it's time for Peanut, Olin, and Hilbenberg to get in.

So the first person Devin called was his mommy and he cried. Does that make him pathetic @The Marshall Plan?

This crying thing has gotten very weird. There’s an obvious difference and I’m not sure why people are so offended by the criticism that they keep knowingly push these out of context retorts.

The Sun Times is reporting that it's not pneumonia but a urinary tract infection and he's been put on three antibiotics and admitted to intensive care.

Such a shame. Let's hope he pulls through, but as tough as McMichael is it's hard to see him hanging in there until August for the enshrinement ceremony. :(
