Thank God they did this after the Allen move.

Did not see that coming.
Sorta.
I actually expected them to bring him back last season, after he got healthy again.
But, once they didn't, I figured they were done.

Hopefully he's just a stupid camp body because the guy blows wild goats. For all the ability to get open, no ability to catch consistently.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Pettis is a reliable PR (note, not an exciting one, but more than you can say for VJJ or Tyler Scott), an adequate downfield blocker, and a 5th WR on a good team because he knows how tto be a professional.
The Bears can do (and have done) much worse.

Pettis can only play in the first 2 quarters.
I think he must be on glue at halftime.

Agreed 100%. He's an upgrade as far as all of that goes. Tyler Scott may eventually be salvageable but I think Jones is gone after preseason. He was a shot at a gadget type guy who could fill a backup WR role and maybe grow to be more but he's not done it. Pettis not a lock to make the team but he's better than Jones or Scott right now as a #4 or #5 WR.thunderspirit wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:48 pm Pettis is a reliable PR (note, not an exciting one, but more than you can say for VJJ or Tyler Scott), an adequate downfield blocker, and a 5th WR on a good team because he knows how tto be a professional.

He's a reliable returner but I'd be surprised if he's still on the roster come September.

Oh, yeah, if the Bears draft someone who can return punts, Pettis' roster spot becomes much more precarious.
