Before I watched his tape I was firmly in the camp of "No TEs in the first round because they'd already be very highly paid". And I know the in-line guys take 2-3 years to develop because they need to learn so much. But then I watched some Bowers tape and he looked like Matt Forte to me... and now I'm struggling to decide where I would rank him. His ability to line up in the backfield as an h-back makes him a 3-down player so that makes him eligible for 1st round investment.
This video has all targets from last year but I think you can focus on his return from tightrope surgery to face #9 Ole Miss

I may be in the minority, but if we take a tight end in the first two rounds, I might throw up.

I hear you but this guy is pretty special. If he was Kyle Jusczyk 2.0 where would you draft him?alexwilkins wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 2:05 pm I may be in the minority, but if we take a tight end in the first two rounds, I might throw up.

If we didn’t have Cole, #20 at the earliest. And that’s if we had two picks.crueltyabc wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 4:22 pmI hear you but this guy is pretty special. I was apparently caping for Bowers at the same time as Mina Kimes was on CHGO saying Waldron loves 13 personnel and that he would love Bowers

Honest question because I'm too lazy to Google: when was the last time a TE who was supposed to be special was taken in the first and ended up being worth it?crueltyabc wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 4:22 pmI hear you but this guy is pretty special. Seems like an abysmal hit rate.

Link to every tight end drafted in the first round since 2000.
Not exactly an abysmal hit rate, at least a few notables in the list.
