The Bears are scheduling a local pro day for college players who live in the Chicagoland area. It seems like something they have done before. Guys attending are more likely to be undrafted and the team is always looking for its next Jack Sanborn:

Luke Skokna, RB, North Dakota, might be a Barrel of Sauerkraut candidate.

Good catch Grizzled... Thanks for sharing... Also, like Justin Blazek... [surname is primarily Czech, first found in Bohemia, Slovakia and also Polish (Błażek)]

Rusty what do ya think? Maybe worth 1 Smalec, 2 Old Styles and a small plate of Pierogi as a UDFA for camp? Seems like a good find for Da Barrel of Sauerkraut as a late 2024 addition?

What gets you “pumped up” before a game?
This usually doesn’t go over well with my teammates in Wisconsin, but I am a Chicago Bears fan.

That article's from 2 April. The local pro day's already happened. I posted a link to the article on the Bears' website a couple of days back in the 30 Visits thread. It's an interesting read:Grizzled wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 12:27 pm The Bears are scheduling a local pro day for college players who live in the Chicagoland area. Bears Visits Winding Down
The last day for top-30 visits is Wednesday but teams can still hold private visits away from their practice facilities with prospects.

The Bears secondary remains a team strength, although it doesn't keep them from doing their due diligence with this draft class at the positions.
Every year the Bears look at numerous players with local roots with Halas Hall visits and rarely do they have one with a pro day performance like the one cornerback Tavion McCarthy had.
McCarthy played high school ball just down the road from Halas Hall at Warren High School and was a cornerback at Northern Michigan and Mercer. He's more of a prospect for the undrafted free agent list after the April 27 selections in the seventh round, but one very remarkable performance he had could change some minds about him.
McCarthy had his local visit with the Bears, according to The Draft Network's Justin Melo. Back in late March, McCarthy did a 44-inch vertical leap at his pro day.
There have only been four recorded vertical leaps in pro days or otherwise that have been higher this century. The record vertical leap for in-coming NFL players is 46 inches by former Jacksonville and Dallas safety Gerald Sensabaugh in 2005.
