No DL, but I’d say this turned out to be a pretty good draft.

It’s not a sexy pick, but definitely one of need.

https://sports.yahoo.com/tory-taylor-re ... 30942.htmlTaylor will likely hear his name called on the third day of the draft. What will give him an edge in my opinion is the ability to kick in cold, wet and windy conditions.
“It’s funny, I watched a few of the SEC games and they all play in like 85 degree weather with not a breath of wind,” Taylor said after Iowa’s win over Wisconsin. “They’re hitting good balls but you find your true potential playing in these games.”
The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

He is a damn good punter, I'll say that. My only complaint, apparently Poles feels the Bears will be punting? With the offensive weapons on this team, I was expecting no punts this year. I suppose for the 3-4 total punts we have all year, they will be really good ones!
Go Bears!!

At least we never have to watch Trent Gill boom a 33 yard punt anymore.

Picking two punters in 3 years is rough, but Taylor is a superstar punter, so it’s fine with me.

Outstanding pick, it seems that all my Sundays/Mondays/Thursdays bitching about not pinning teams inside the 10 yardline/5 yardline may be coming to an end!
For real, this guy played a huge role in saving Iowa's offense. His ability to flip fields and pin offenses inside the 10 yard line will be a huge boon for our team. I love it!

Last time he waited and got the 4th one.
This time he learned - no waiting and got first choice in a good draft for first choice.

I don't know why you think the guy was Irish! Dude was clearly English.

Loved that he was rocking a Sanborn jersey after big Jack sent him the message letting him know he'd won the inaugural International Fan of the Year award. Also loved his typically low-key British reaction. None of this over-the-top screaming you Americans go in for.

In some drafts, this would've been a reach. In 2024, the late fourth round is where everyone seemed to start picking RBs and Canadian linemen. Instead of a dart throw, we got a guy whose upside is perennial All Pro. Sure, he's a punter, but he's the only guy picked nearly this late in the draft who all but definitively solves a problem for his team. That's worth quite a bit IMSO.

Taylor said he got this text from Williams on Saturday: “Hey, you’re not going to punt too much here.”

Yeah he was a southerner alright.
I thought we’d drafted a “panther” (which would have been cool). He needs to pronounce his “u” properly.
Fair play to him giving UK Bears fans a shoutout and bigging up the Bears

Four picks, three starters (Odunze's going to start at least a couple of games this year) and one extremely promising developmental guy. We'd have been happy with that result from seven or eight picks.
