Based on everything associated (at least so far), it's hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't have Rodgers' fingerprints all over it.

Saleh will bounce back. He's a good coach that got stuck in a terribly run organization.

Rodgers now has the rep as a coach killer.

The Jets have tried to build the right way. Strong D. Drafting OL high. It just ain't leading to success, which is the case for most teams for whatever reason.

I really don't get that reputation. McCarthy was in GB for like 10 years and won a SB with Rodgers. LaFleur had a few good playoff runs with Rodgers, is still coaching the Packers (and they still haven't reached the same heights without Rodgers - it's only been a year and change, though). Saleh got fired, sure, but Rodgers is in his 20th year in the league and on his 4th coach - hard to see that as being a "coach-killer", if you ask me.

Now, did he have a big hand in getting Saleh fired? Sure, I'll buy that. But this idea that he's killing coaches is a bit hard for me to swallow. If anything, he kept McCarthy employed longer than he probably would have been otherwise.

Over the course of 20 years, he definitely doesn't come off that way.

However, in the last 4 years, with: COVID lying, weirdo dating, tantruming over Love drafting, skipping NYJ workouts to go on vacation, getting Saleh fired, and not being any good since 2021 - I think you can make a compelling argument that he's turning/fully turned toxic in his waning years.

Well-said. He's 100% toxic, at this point. I doubt there are many coaches (who aren't Rodgers sycophants already) who would be excited by the opportunity to coach him.

Hackett stripped of play calling duties.

https://sports.yahoo.com/jets-demote-oc ... p_catchall

I think if I had to pick between Hackett forgot how to call a game or Rodgers simply can't cut it anymore, I'd side with Rodgers being the problem.

From nfl.com:
Las Vegas will receive a conditional 2025 third-round pick in exchange for Adams, Rapoport and NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported, per sources.

The third-rounder can become a second-round pick if Adams becomes a first- or second-team All-Pro this season, or if he's on the active roster should the Jets make the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl LIX, per Pelissero.

Pelissero added that the Jets have agreed to take on the rest of Adams' salary in order to get the deal done, per a source. Adams' base salary is $16.89 million and he also has $510,000 in per-game active roster bonuses. The Jets will take on the prorated portion, which comes out to $11.6 million.

Adams is already in the Jets' building and will undergo a physical, per Rapoport. Adams has missed the past three games due to a hamstring injury, but Rapoport reported the injury is in a good place.

"Tae is one of my closest friends in the league," Rodgers said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show. "Tae is right at the top of the list of guys I really care about that are family to me. To be able to have him back is really special to me. It's bittersweet because of what happened last night, but it's exciting. Tae and I have done a lot of great things over the years. He's made me look good a lot of times. I'm really excited about it. I think it's exciting for our team. We definitely got better today. Big thanks to Joe (Douglas) for making it happen. Woody, Chris pulling the trigger. Obviously, everybody was pissed about last night, but lot of season left. Now it's go time."

Jets owner Woody Johnson spoke with reporters Tuesday just after news of the Adams trade materialized.

"We know that they played together," Johnson said of the Rodgers-Adams connection. "Yeah, I mean I think anybody would be interested. He adds to the running game, he opens up everything. Particularly having that relationship with the quarterback, it's very important."

Even amid the tumult, the Jets' aspirations of salvaging the season seemed to have improved with Adams' arrival.

"Salvageable? We're going to kick ... you can fill the word in," Johnson said, adding "changing the status quo is killer."

Why do I feel an injury to Adams are A A Ron coming on? that would be hilarious (as much as I don't wish injuries on people). AR has effed that organization up.

Sure a good thing they got rid of Salah, since he was obviously the problem.

...and picked up the savior, Davantae Adams. Seeing A A Ron lose is about as joyful as a Packer loss.

It's probably a nervous habit he picked up during that week of almighty darkness..
There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team
So Bears’ fans can dream
Of winning some more Super Bowls

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/600517 ... dden-sons/

Some very funny stuff in there if you have an Athletic (NYT) subscription. From the teaser email they sent out this morning:

This piece focuses on owner Woody Johnson, who has been quite … hands-on. What I did not expect to learn is the influence of his teen sons, Brick and Jack, whose love for the Madden franchise seems to influence the owner of this NFL team.

No, seriously, our reporting revealed that the Jets owner nixed a trade for Jerry Jeudy last offseason because the receiver’s EA Sports rating was too low. It’s not the only time video game ratings have factored into their personnel decisions, either.

When Johnson left for the U.K. in 2017, his sons, Brick and Jack, were 11 and 9, respectively. When he returned, they were teenagers. Last year, Johnson started including his sons in some meetings at the team facility. For some Jets employees, the sons’ increasing involvement clarified their father’s propensity for sharing posts from X and articles from various outlets, including a blog called “Jets X-Factor,” with the organization’s top decision-makers.

“When we’re discussing things, you’ll hear Woody cite something that Brick or Jack read online that’s being weighed equally against whatever opinion someone else in the department has,” said one Jets executive.

“I answer to a teenager,” Douglas quipped to people close to him before the season in an acknowledgment of the perceived power dynamic.
