The Bears are sitting at $21,674,469, in the top half of teams. They haven't signed Odunze and Williams yet. They have $238,464,754 allocated, in the bottom half of the league. There should be room to sign another player or 2 before the season (DE? C?) even after signing the rookies:

Based on last year's contracts for Bryce Young (1) and Jalen Carter (9) the cap hits for Williams and Odunze should be approximately $7m and $4m in the first year, so that would only leave about $10.5m in cap space.

Poles will need to keep a few million for in-season emergencies. He can roll over some degree of the cap for future contracts and it might be prudent to do so. Allen, Jenkins and Herbert are due to hit free agency at the end of the upcoming season. Gordon, Brisker and Braxton Jones will become eligible for extensions and Moore will only have one year left at that point too. Cap management is going to play a big factor in whether Poles's rebuild leads to sustained success.

They also haven't done very much "borrowing" from Future Cap years either - so that will help too

He's still going to get a DE right before camp opens (7/19 is reporting day).

Lawson, Ogbah will probably be too expensive
Justin Houston, on a incentive heavy deal is still my favorite
Ngakoue, Jerry Hughes, Markus Golden are ok possibilities.

But it's going to be a combination of who wants to be where and who blinks on price.
