Man, I was exhausted yesterday and went to bed at the end of the third quarter... so imagine my surprise when I wake up to news that Jordan Love shredded his knee at the end of the game? And it was Jalen Carter who did the dirty work?!?!? AND MALIK WILLIS IS HIS FUCKING BACK UP?!?!?!??!?!
Never ever celebrate an injury, but also... Wow. That's a lot to process.

I'm so twisted I've been refreshing Twitter every hour to look for an update on his knee lol
I never root for an opposing player to get hurt, but ya know what? It's about fucking time that fan base got a taste of what we have been suffering through for ages.
Charles Martin's cheap shot on Jim McMahon which basically ruined his career.
Rex Grossman tore his ACL early in year 2. Then he broke his ankle the following preseason.
Jay Cutler had the Bears rolling at 7-3 and then broke his thumb.
Etc etc etc.
It's awful for the player if he indeed got hurt.
But for the franchise I hate with every fiber of my being? FUCK THE PACKERS!

I would always rather beat a team at their best. I hope he recovers quickly and then proves to be a huge waste of money for the Packers based on merit, not injury.
That said, the season is sure set up well for the beloved, and I won't be sad for Packers fans.

Not gonna pretend like this isn't good news, it's just his knee its not like his life is in danger or anything - I've had similar injuries and didn't need a shoulder to cry on lol. He still gets full pay, while its disappointing for him professionally it's not a big deal "life wise" at all. I'm hoping he's out for the year and the Packers suck, then when he comes back he struggles mightily while the Packers frantically search for a way to alleviate their cap commitment. I guess I'm a terrible person.
But I haven't seen anything official on it, it could be something relatively minor. Should know in the next couple days.

You're not a terrible person, this is sports! It's an escape from reality where I'm sure you are a wonderfully stoned individual with a horrible taste in famous women:

Packers land seems to think it’s pretty bad. Season ending bad.

Gotta wonder if they will give Tannehill a call. He’s the only decent QB left out there I think.

I don't ever root for players to get injured, even Packers. NFL careers are short as hell already.

To be fair, I don't think anyone was rooting for him to get injured.thunderspirit wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 9:44 am I don't ever root for players to get injured, even Packers. NFL careers are short as hell already.
I know I was watching the game and analyzing him and not once did I think "I hope he blows out his knee". I certainly did want the Eagles' to hit him -- a lot

Looks like a high ankle sprain at best, 6 to 8 weeks to heal. However, an MRI today will reveal if there is a ligament sprain or tear in the knee, which could be season ending. I never root for a player to get hurt. But it would be karma (Charles Martin) for the Pack's season to be derailed by a QB hit, although this one was legal

ACL is apparently intact. So shouldn't be season ending. Dammit.

Severity still TBD, but sounds like it's an MCL sprain:

Willis will probably come in and ball out. It's the way of the universe, it seems.
My mother's love was inexplicably linked to kickball.

Love is officially "questionable" for Sunday's game against he Colts.
It would be a massive surprised if he played, but if was going to be out for 6 - 8 weeks as previously suggested then wouldn't they have put him on IR?

God i just had a vision of how the season's going to play out. Packers lose a few games early on, come storming back in the second half of the season, and their playoff aspirations come down to the final week of the season against the Bears.
I think i've seen this episode before.

True. But I like that episode alot better than the one where the Bears playoff aspirations are on the line the last week of the seasonvs the Packers.Rusty Trombagent wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:09 am God i just had a vision of how the season's going to play out.
