WOW
I knew they were really bad, just from snippets of conversation of sports radio, but I was totally unaware that they were so incredibly, record-breakingly inept.
I mean, sympathies to those of you unlucky, foolish, masochistic or whatever, to be a fan of them. But this is just monumental.
They are currently on track to be the worst team in baseball since the 1899 Cleveland Spiders.
The Spiders ownership bought another team (which is not allowed anymore), the St Louis Browns, and then raided all the talent from the Spiders and 'traded' it to the Browns.
In other words, the last ballclub to be this awful was the deliberately cannibalized corpse of a team 125 years ago.
All right, middle finger away if you must. But this is really fascinating and historical.
You can tell your grandkids you followed this season.
And maybe saw the season that eventually presaged sale of the team, relocation of the team, new MLB rules - who knows what.

This is what having Reinsdorf as your owner gets you.

tells me you haven't subjected yourself to the punishment of actually watching them play
they will end the year as the worst team in history not because of some fluke but because they really ARE that bad

well gee ... all that is left is for Reinsdorf to declare "all the pieces are in place"
White Sox fall to Tigers for MLB-record 121st loss of season
'This used to be my happy place': White Sox fans reflect on the worst season in MLB history
and hey, there are still a few games left to further cement themselves as the absolute worst in the history of MLB if you aren't already convinced
watching their games this year has been like watching a college team playing against little leaguers ... and that is only in the close games ... the blowouts were worse
