Man KC gets shafted by the refs just like the bears do, look at the disparity in penalties called against the teams they are playing.

Just kinda lets you know where people are, most believe the Chiefs get favorable treatment - which aligns with both the eye test and the statistics/data. And it’s well worn / long term proven out that stars get favorable treatment, in any sport. Looks like Allen gets more than his share!
Hopefully we see a clean game tomorrow

Agree to disagree, it aligns with zero solid statistical data, but it aligns with cherry picked and minuscule sample size data, and it aligns perfectly with what someone wants it to align with.dplank wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 1:51 pm Just kinda lets you know where people are, most believe the Chiefs get favorable treatment - which aligns with both the eye test and the statistics/data. Heck 6 years of data shows the chiefs opponents get penalized the 4th least.

My observation is it a myth that permeates every pro sport.
The best always get tagged with favourable treatment.
I don’t think it’s true.
I think it was Garry Player who once said
“The harder I practice, the luckier I get”.
I don’t see why the officials would deliberately make bad calls in favour of the Chiefs. If they did they risk their job.

Taking a break from screen time for Lent. Wish me luck.

Yea we can agree to disagree, but man I was just about the biggest Jordan fan there was when he played, and even still I recognized the treatment he got from the refs for the entire 2nd half of his career. It was just impossible to ignore. So what I see isn't targeted at someone I dislike, what I dislike is a poorly called game where the referees play a role in the outcome of the game. Regardless of team, regardless of sport....

The irony of a Packer-adjacent Xitter account posting that is rich indeed.

I’m sure the bills would have won if not for the refs efforts.

People are going to talk about the Bills' 4th down call in the 4th quarter, probably, but it wasn't an obvious call one way or the other, to me.

Except for that would be Int or Interception that turned into a KC first and goal. Announcers, ref in the booth both said it appeared that way to them, but because the call on the field was opposite it was too hard to overturn. To me defensive guy had control when the touched down, then offensive guy got the better of it.
There was also that horrible spot on the 4th and 1 where it appeared he got the first down but the spot got backed up and confirmed.

So db has one arm and wr has two hand, the come down together. That call was either a dual possession or incomplete if the ball moved when it hit the ground. Personally it was the absolute right call.Rakshir wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:01 pmExcept for that would be Int or Interception that turned into a KC first and goal. It was. I saw way more issues with the bills coaching decisions than anything.

Yea couple big calls went the Chiefs way but I agree they called a fair game. I’m more baffled why Buffalo kept trying to tush push when they clearly couldn’t do it

On 4th and inches, if you cannot make at least a half a yard, you don't deserve to win. The Bills have not got the tush push down, it was a detriment to them. I think either Bills RB could have gotten that 1st down if given the chance. I believe Allen could have gotten it as well if someone type of pass run option was used. But damn, give it to a back.

I don't know what the Bills 2nd half game plan was, but it was bad.Otis Day wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 10:08 am On 4th and inches, if you cannot make at least a half a yard, you don't deserve to win. Yeah those tush pushes were insanely frustrating. First one didnt work (imo partly because Allen was too upright). Second one worked because he dove head first over the pile, which, please dont do that ever again for christs sake. Third one should have absolutely been a play fake built off that formation. Joe Brady, get your ass back to school.

Bills are definitely going to need to address WR in the offseason. Amari Cooper looks like he's toast and Mack Hollins is either making incredible downfield catches or is awful...there's no middle ground.
I guess if I have to root for someone, I'll root for Barkley. The Chiefs feel like they are becoming insufferable with all of the flopping. I don't like Hurts and how he just looks like a sourpuss all the time.
Ugh.. this was always the least desirable matchup.

Goodell was asked about the Chiefs and officiating at his Super Bowl presser. Here's the excerpt from nfl.com's report:
Goodell was asked about the perception that the Chiefs have benefited from a bias in officiating this past season.
Goodell said that the notion reminded him of the past internet conspiracy theory that the NFL was "scripted."
"I think a lot of those theories are things that happen in social media and they get a new life," he said. "As you say, it's not your theory, but it's out there. Nobody wants it to be their theory. I understand it. I think it reflects a lot of the fans' passion.
"I think it also is a reminder of how important officiating is. I think the men and women that officiating in the NFL are outstanding. They have the highest possible standards. That's a ridiculous theory for anyone who might take it seriously. But at the end of the day, it's something we always have to continue to work on. How do we make our game better at all times?"
Goodell told reporters that the league's officials are evaluated in several ways that go beyond their performance on the field.
"These officials are outstanding people," Goodell said. "They go through a lot to become officials. It's a tough job. A really hard job. Half the group sees it one way, and half sees it the other way, and they understand that coming into it. I've never seen a more dedicated group of people than our NFL officials to getting it right, to doing the best job they possibly can, and I'm proud of the work they do."
Goodell added on Monday that the league wants "to use technology to supplement and to assist and support" its officials. Goodell cited the use of replay assist as a "big step forward," adding that areas such as facemask penalties could be added to replay assist in the future.

Exactly what I was saying and using the exact same example of Jordan. This is a good one because he shits on people complaining while also making it very clear that it is in fact happening.

It’s all a lot of whining and conspiracy theory nonsense.
