By giving other teams a big lead (2 games is a lot to an incompetent team), I don't know if the Bears can go higher than 7, unfortunately.
I do think they can lose out or come very close, though.

I don't think we win another game. Maybe the last one because the team is sitting it's starters. 4-13. 5-12 maybe. Maybe lightning strikes twice and we get number one or two? Top five for sure. Trade down or take oline? Getting the top lineman would be fucking alright with me.

We could have a top 5 pick in R1 and 2 top 5 picks in R2.
Scenario 1:
Trade R1 pick for mid R1 pick and 2026 R1 pick
Scenario 2 :
Trade R1 pick for one of the best Oline out there

Hard to say what to do until we know our draft position and how the board looks. Can’t pass on a big time T if he’s there for you, otherwise trade down and take several. We need to get younger which should also mean healthier.

I think WE do need to root for those teams. I get not wanting to root for us to lose out, but WE should all want those teams to win more games than us, so if we don’t make the playoffs we have a better draft spot.o-pus #40 in B major wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:13 pmStop saying "we" when you say things of this nature, please.Ditka’s dictaphone wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:32 pm So we’re rooting for the Titans, the Jets, the Cowboys and the Dolphins
If somehow we catch fire and make the playoffs rooting for those teams doesn’t hurt us.

I'm rooting for the Bears, but there might be two wins left in this schedule. The Niners and the Seahawks. Maybe. We'll see how we end up against the Vikings this weekend, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. The problem is that I don't think 6-11 puts us in the top 10. I am rooting for Carolina to lose though, if for no other reason than to elevate their 2nd round pick. I'm guessing we'll win three games, we'll be 7-10 and end up with the 12th pick.

I checked and last year, teams with 6 or 7 wins (which is what I'm currently expecting) were positioned 6-11.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 9:23 am I'm rooting for the Bears, but there might be two wins left in this schedule. That's exactly why we should all be pulling for Cinci, Miami and Tampa to all win. (same with N.O., Dallas, etc., but the three teams I listed I think have the talent to win more games than we will). If those teams can all win 3 games we get to 11. I think 10 is about as high as we can can. That requires one more team ahead us to get to seven wins (our SOS should put us picking after anyone we tie with) and I don't see that happening as outside of N.O. they would all have to win 4 of their remaining games.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 9:23 am I'm rooting for the Bears, but there might be two wins left in this schedule. I'm not claiming we're good, but with the change in OC I think there might be enough on the positive side right now to support our Bears winning several divisional games.
I agree 7-10 is pretty realistic at this point, but 8-9 is not super improbable, imho.

My guess is we win 1 of 2 vs the Vikings, lose both to Detroit, and lose at GB. Maybe we win 1 of 2 vs Niners and Seattle? Would put us at 6-11. 7-10 could happen but I'd be a bit surprised. I can't see how Flus survives. His wrote his own death certificate with the two late losses (WASH/GB) and the NE debacle.o-pus #40 in B major wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 10:21 am"It's hard to beat a good team twice." - That's a quote from John Madden.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 9:23 am I'm rooting for the Bears, but there might be two wins left in this schedule. If I had to vote today, I'd vote we don't win another game. But I'll reconsider that after this week and Brown has had some time to put his stamp on the offense.dplank wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 11:01 amMy guess is we win 1 of 2 vs the Vikings, lose both to Detroit, and lose at GB. I can't believe it's only November and we've started yet another thread about hoping for better draft position. It's become an annual event.

If the Bears aren't going to make the playoffs, I generally hope for the team to show signs of improvement while getting the best draft pick possible.HisRoyalSweetness wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 1:01 pm I can't believe it's only November and we've started yet another thread about hoping for better draft position. I'm not sure I care much anymore. The results feel like they will be the same either way. Meanwhile, teams with worse draft position continue to build better rosters than Chicago, year in year out.

Of the Bears last decade, 2018 was the outlier, I didn't look at mock drafts until after the season was over. One of those seasons, I started looking at the draft right after the first game, the team was so bad. So this season is, yet again, the rule rather than the exception.HisRoyalSweetness wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 1:01 pm I can't believe it's only November and we've started yet another thread about hoping for better draft position. I refuse to consider draft position vs losing etc again this year.
We need to win or learn to win as much as we can this year, regardless of what happens with the coaching staff. I want Caleb to be a leader of the team through adversity and winning games no one thought he could win.
You dont have to suck hard core to get good Oline picks in a draft. Culture does matter, regardless of coaching staff.
