The Senior Bowl has a really good OL group. I've already declared my affection for Wyatt Milum and Aireontae Ersery – both play with athleticism and nasty. Ajani Cornelius has the nasty too; less sure about the athleticism. I'm intrigued by Charles Grant too and his fellow FCSer Carson Vinson, and the versatility of Monheim and Garrett Dellinger should bode well for both. (I'm guessing those two play C most of the time?)
And count me in as high on Princely Umanmielen, Dante Trader, and Jonas Sanker.

A deeper dive into the Senior Bowl roster:
- I know @wab thinks highly of Riley Leonard, but I think Jaxson Dart will be the best QB in Mobile.
- This is a great running back group, which reflects the depth in this draft. The all-star set-up doesn't give RBs a really good chance to flash, though. The TE group is also very solid (though not nearly as deep); I like Jake Brininigstool (Clemson) a lot as a move TE, though he's not much of a blocker.
- Both the Iowa St receivers, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, need to show more to thier game than the Cyclones offense has allowed. Higgins needs to handle the press, while Noel needs to show NFL routes. Jalen Royals, Xavier Restrepo, and Jaylen Lane will get chances to show off their ST skills. And a lot of people seem to love Savion Williams but I just don't see it. Maybe I'm wrong, though; we'll see.
- A real solid O-line group to watch. I'm hoping we'll get to see guys at multiple positions, including Wyatt Milum (West Virginia). If I'm picking one guy I'd love to see the Bears draft, it's Milum. Plus, I haven't seen much of Jalen Rivers (Miami), and haven't seen any of Charles Grant (William & Mary) and Carson Vinson (Alabama A&M); it's always interesting to watch how FCS guys step up.
- As solid as the O-line group is, the D-line group might be better: all 19 guys are draftable. I've already stated I'm high on Umanmielen (Mississippi), but I also really like his teammate Jared Ivey (transfer from Georgia Tech) and Landon Jackson (Arkansas) at DE, and Ty Hamilton (Ohio St) and Jamaree Caldwell (Oregon via Houston) will show off their strength and run-stuffing skills. The Bears could use any of these guys.
- The safeties – Trader (Maryland), Sanker (Virginia), and Mukuba (Texas) – look better than the CBs – Trey Amos (Mississippi via Louisiana), Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech), and Bilhal Kone (W Michigan from Indiana St), plus a small but feisty guy in Jaylin Smith (USC). There's also Malachi Moore (Alabama), a guy who's too small to play safety and too slow to play corner but just makes plays all over the place. He's like the final legacy of Nick Saban-trained DBs, and I feel like shouldn't like his game as much as I do.

With the rosters basically complete, here are some final thoughts before the Senior Bowl practices start on Tuesday.
- Jaxson Dart (Mississippi) is, in my opinion, QB2 in this draft behind Cam Ward (Miami/Wash St/Incarnate Word). (I think Shadeur Sanders is basically Teddy Bridgewater – nothing wrong with that, but not a difference-maker.) Will Howard (Ohio St/Kansas St) looks like a quality career backup QB; Riley Leonard (Notre Dame/Duke) sometimes seems like might be a bit more than that, and other times like he might be less. Keep an eye on Seth Henigan (Memphis); he won the starting job as a true freshman and 50 starts later has shown enough tools to stick somewhere and earn a shot, kind of in the Jimmy Garropolo mold.
- Devin Neal (Kansas) is My Guy [tm] among the Senior Bowl RBs. Yeah, I like Jarquez Hunter (Auburn) and Cam Skattebo (Arizona St/Sacramento St) a lot too, but Neal is my favorite guy to watch among this group (and probably my second non-Jeanty RB overall in this year's draft).
- It's hard not to like Harold Fannin Jr (Bowling Green) and his ridiculous numbers. If he can turn into a passable get-in-the-way blocker, he's got a ten-year role as a slot TE waiting for him in the NFL. I like Jake Briningstool (Clemson) and Elijah Arroyo (Miami) in similar roles, and I'll otherwise be interested to see how this group measures out – both Thomas Fidone II (Nebraska) and Moliki Matavao (UCLA/Oregon) are intriguing, and Mason Taylor (LSU) did everything but catch a lot of passes with the Tigers.
- Elic Ayomanor (Stanford) is the closest thing I have to a draft crush this year; I'd draft him with the Bears' first pick in the second round without hesitation. Overall, I'm a little down on this receiver group, though – lots of size issues on some guys, production issues on others. Jaylin Noel (Iowa St) has some juice, even if it comes with like maybe three NFL-caliber routes. And Xavier Restrepo (Miami) is a fun watch.
- I've given my Wyatt Milum (West Virginia) affection before, and I'll repeat it here. He's my top college-tackle-to-NFL-guard interior lineman. (Caleb Rogers from Texas Tech isn't far behind.) John Conerly Jr (Oregon) is a guy I think is gonna really rise as the draft approaches, as he's a legit tackle and just turned 21 this past November. A lot of folks I trust seem to love Marcus Mbow (Purdue) as a conversion to center, and while I do think he probably belongs inside, the Cody Whitehair Experience has made me leery about converting someone who's never played C before. And I think Jacob Bayer (Arkansas St/Lamar) might surprise some people here. I hope so, he's a fun watch at center.
- This defensive line group is, frankly, awesome. The Bears could use most of these guys. Deone Walker (Kentucky) has flashed dominant potential; TJ Sanders (South Carolina) has been very productive; and Walter Nolen (Mississippi/Texas A&M) may be the best of the group. Among the guys who play nose, Ty Hamilton (Ohio St) has a reputation as a locker room leader; Yahya Black (Iowa) has made me set aside my typical anti-Hawkeye linemen bias; and Jamaree Caldwell (Oregon/Houston) reminds me of Andrew Billings in both build and play.
- Similar to the inside D-linemen, the Bears could do worse than a lot of the edge guys too. Nic Scourton (Texas A&M/Purdue), Landon Jackson (Arkansas/LSU), Jared Ivey (Mississippi/Georgia Tech), Princely Umanmielen (Mississippi/Florida) – any of these guys would improve the Bears' pass rush. Scourton would be my top choice, but I'd be happy with one.
- Great athletes at LB, but the production is decidedly lacking. Cody Lindenberg (Minnesota) has excellent size and had a productive 2024 season, but also has a loooong injury history, so caveat emptor. Carson Schwesinger (UCLA) and Demetrius Knight Jr (South Carolina/Charlotte) also turned it on in their last season (or, in Knight's case, his last two seasons, at age 23 and 24). Are they late bloomers or just now physically more mature than other guys?
- Not a great corner group, in my view. Trey Amos (Mississippi/Alabama/Louisiana) and Azareye'h Thomas (Florida St) are probably the best, though both are also one-year wonders (though his 2022 season with the Rajun' Cajuns was very good too). Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech), BJ Adams (C Florida) and Bilhal Kone (W Michigan/Indiana St) are the best of the rest, with Jacob Parrish (Kansas St) and maybe Jaylin Smith (USC) having a chance due to productivity and toughness.
- The safety group, on the other hand, looks very solid. Xavier Watts (Notre Dame) just reminded everyone of the impact he can make on games throughout the CFP, and Andrew Mukuba (Texas/Clemson) seemed to carry the Longhorns defense at times. I love Jonas Sanker (Virginia) and like Dante Trader Jr (Maryland), too. And I've already praised Malachi Moore (Alabama), a guy who just maximizes his relatively pedestrian physical gifts every time he plays.

As an extremely casual CFB enjoyer, I'm always curious about who's going to be the QB that suddenly during the draft process everyone goes "actually, this guy's way better than everyone thought." Jaxson is who my money has been on.thunderspirit wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 1:45 am

I have always been a H/W/S guy so I always like it when the Senior Bowl Weigh in stuff gets released.
Some notable players that have been discussed/linked to the Bears are below:
DL:
Deone Walker: 6'7 340 (Previously listed as 6'5 348)
Walter Nolen: 6'3 293 (Previously listed as 6'4 290)
Ty Robinson: 6'4 296 (Previously listed as 6'3 298)
EDGE
Landon Jackson: 6'5 273 (Previously listed as 6'7 270)
Mike Green: 6'3 251(Previously listed as 6'4 245)
Jared Ivey: 6'5 283 (Previously listed as 6'6 285)
Shemar Stewart: 6'5 281 (Previously listed as 6'6 290)
Princely Umanmielen: 6'4 264 (Previously listed as 6'4 243)
OL:
Josh Conerly Jr: 6'4 313 (Previously listed as 6'4 305
Emery Jones: 6'4 312 (Previously listed as 6'6 315)
Wyatt Milum: 6'6 315 (Previously listed as 6'6 312)
Jonah Monheim: 6'4 307 (Previously listed as 6'5 310)
Jonah Savaiinaea: 6'3 339 (Previously listed as 6'5 335)
Armand Membou: 6'3 332 (Previously listed as 6'3 312)
Marcus Mbow: 6'4 309 (Previously listed as 6'5 305)
Grey Zabel: 6'5 316 (Previously listed as 6'5 295)
RB:
Ollie Gordon: 6'1 233 (Previously listed as 6'1 211)
Donovan Edwards: 5'11 215 (Previously listed as 6'1 219)
Devin Neal: 5'10 220 (Previously listed as 5'11 215)
TE:
Harold Fannin Jr: 6'3 238 (Previously listed as 6'4 230)
Jake Briningstool: 6'5 234 (Previously listed as 6'6 242)
Of note, all of the OL lack ideal arm length. Most of them are in the 32in range except for Conerly at 34in, Jones and Savaiinaea (who was much shorter than expected) at nearly 35in.
Ollie Gordon and Zabel have the same arm length, so I can see why they are moving him inside.

Should this be merged?
It was clear that Deone Walker was a mountain of a man, but mein got.
Count me in on Walker or Yahya Black inside next to Dexter, too.

At 6'6 I don't care! That's very tall for a center and I wouldn't want our 6'1 QB having to try and see over the top of a player that tall.G08 wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 3:05 pm Sounds like Wyatt Milum is taking reps at OC... which begs the question @HisRoyalSweetness

Deone Walker is a mountain of a man …playing low will be his challenge.
Mike Green man…16 sacks this season…guy is going to be a steal for someone after the 1st.
I like Jonah Savaiineah a lot..he’s played OG and OT. If he’s there in the second, I’m all in.

Jacob Infante is WCG's Lead Draft Analyst, he's covered the NFL Draft on a national stage, and offers expert analysis at 2nd City Gridiron.
Their motto is “the draft starts in Mobile”, and it’s pretty clear to see why the Reese’s Senior Bowl is consistently a big deal.
The Senior Bowl is typically a good litmus test for whether a prospect will get drafted or not, as a vast majority of the players they invite get selected, with a good handful of them going off the board in the first three rounds. For those who don’t get picked, it’s usually still an indication that you’ll land with an NFL team eventually.
As I’ve done for each of the last six years, I watched every single player who will be attending this year’s Senior Bowl. I also started doing so for the Shrine Bowl within the last couple years, but the Senior Bowl rankings have been my longest-standing series to date. I do this so I have a baseline understanding of everyone’s game heading into the week, as well as to provide transparency with you all about my scouting process at this stage.
You’ll see in these rankings that the 2025 NFL Draft is trench-heavy, which bodes especially well for a team like the Bears. What this class lacks in top-notch quarterback talent and a multitude of flashy weapons, it more than makes up for with defensive line and offensive line prospects. Given Chicago’s three picks in the first two rounds, that’s surely an encouraging sign.
Shoutout to Alex Katson’s Patreon for keeping track of a whole bunch of things, but in particular, the full list of everyone who’s down in Mobile currently that’s actually playing in practices this week.
Without further ado, here is my ranking of all 139 players down at the 2025 Reese’s Sen

If Fannin is there in the third and the Bears have already addressed OL/DL in R1 and R2, I could be convinced to give G08 what he wants and draft a big WR ...er...I mean "move" TE.

Infante is higher on some guys than I am and lower on others.
That said, I find Infante a solid NFL draft prospect evaluator. It's when he strays off into hot takes and clickbait criticisms that (JMSO) he loses his way.

Honestly I am more interested in the OL, DL and RBs -- feel like we will be investing there this draft.
I'm hoping we can trade down from 10 as well but that's for another thread
