He hasn’t “ignored” the offensive line, he just made egregious error after egregious error every time he’s tried to do anything about it and he seems unaware of how shit he’s been - describing this OL as being the best depth he’s seen.
Shambolic disaster at O line.

Getting personal now, hey ? Yes, I like to joke sometimes AND have FUN! So, you don't want the best RB in the draft, which would be a huge upgrade , it's simple. He pushes the pile, can go to the house, and has great hands. AND might win the Heisman. Do you really think any of our RB's are better than him? Have you even seen him play w/ 8 in the box all year? Who's your 1st. Rd. pick ? A lot of guys agree. I think you owe me a apology.

I get it - I'm not the owner of the board, but for the life of me I can't understand why the Mods feel the need to carve up the discussions between multiple boards like that so aggressively. It's not like this board gets massive traffic / post volume, so why make it harder for people to discover posts they may be interested in reading and engaging with? I, for one, NEVER go to any of the other sub-forums. I can't imagine many people do...

You’re 1 up on me in terms of identifying a R1 pick for the Bears.Eriebear wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 6:10 pmGetting personal now, hey ? Yes, I like to joke sometimes AND have FUN! I’ve no idea who they will/could go for, there are so few “blue chip” players. But in my opinion any RB behind this O line will get crushed. Unless they’re build like Derrick Henry - which Jeanty certainly is not.
Nothing against him, although I think he’ll find it harder to “bounce off” tackles in the NFL than college football.
I just think we have greater needs on this roster.

Because we have a completely separate forum for draft talk? Unless/Until he becomes a Bear it doesn’t belong in the Bears discussion section.

I found it more frustrating until I decided to just browse by using "Quick Links" -> "Unread Posts." Doing it that way makes it so everything is like one big, unread forum. For posts/forums I'm not interested in, I just go to the beginning and mark all as read.grendel2000 wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 6:13 pmI get it - I'm not the owner of the board, but for the life of me I can't understand why the Mods feel the need to carve up the discussions between multiple boards like that so aggressively. It’s also like six months until the draft. We generally get a little looser with the rules when it comes closer to draft time. Otherwise, the forum just gets clogged up and more relevant stuff falls off to the next page.

Im just warming up. I’m not goin dummy. My big three are still Kelvin Banks, Tyler Booker, and Kenneth Grant.dplank wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 8:01 amThe run game is 90% OL dependent 10% RB, unless you have a Lamar Jackson type QB then all bets are off.alexwilkins wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:25 pm Colin Cowherd pointed something interesting out this morning. 7 of the top-10 receiving yard leaders are on losing teams, while 6 of the top-10 rushing leaders, including THE top 5 guys are on winning teams. You don’t run for 2500 yards and counting without some YAC. It’s not like he came outa nowhere. As a freshman he had 800 yards and 7 tuds. Last year he had 1350 and 14 tuds. I’m really warming up to the idea.

1) You got both his first name and last name wrongEriebear wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 6:10 pm Getting personal now, hey ? Yes, I like to joke sometimes AND have FUN! 2) As others have alluded to, no RB would be successful behind this offensive line or play calling
3) Although he is a very talented RB, he has over inflated stats playing mostly against inferior competition. He had a great game against Oregon, but that is really the only game he has gone against pro caliber players
4). Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks, Mason Graham, Abdul Carter, Mykell Williams, and James Pearce would help the Bears more than Jeanty.

I'm not sure we are being even the tad bit consistent when it means resource allocation.dplank wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:30 amThis is correct, I really don't understand the apologism here. If want to be all "wordsmith-y" then I suppose "ignore" is the wrong word, but we all understand what that means in reality isn't literally ignoring it, just not applying nearly enough emphasis/resource allocation to it. Particularly relative to other positions on the team. And that point is just undeniably true, so why come back with some lengthy post like this HRS? Did you think he meant that we literally ignored the position or were you just being daft?IotaNet wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:16 am Yes but the vast majority of these are late round picks or bargain basement FAs. It’s time to pick some top tier linemen.
If we get to take a swipe at Flus - whom we don't like !- then we are ok with saying things like D. Walker is more resources taken up this year than Caleb Williams.
But if we want to hammer Poles for "ignoring" OL - Nate Davis had a pretty solid Cap hit folks.
And why can't we just use the correct words? No one needs to be "wordsmith-y" (also not a word) - but like accurate? It won't kill people - I'm fairly certain on that part.

Regardless of defensive scheme, if a Mason Graham is there, the Bears have to take him. If Will Campbell is there also, though, going to be a tough decision. If the Bears take him, maybe they can move Kiran inside, sign Trey Smith at guard, draft a center, and voila, new OL.

There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team
So Bears’ fans can dream
Of winning some more Super Bowls

You could bookmark the unread posts page, but yeah, usually I just use back (button on browser, gesture on phone) and click on the next unread topic. After awhile, I will refresh/reload so it updates what I've actually read.Arkansasbear wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2024 11:37 amOkay how do I do that? Almost like we should have traded down, got an extra pick, then taken Verse in the first and Roman Wilson in the third, huh?G08 wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:37 pm We need to fucking overhaul this offensive line and get another dominant pass rusher in here ASAP. Sweat is clearly demonstrating he cannot do it by himself when he's being double teamed and chipped.
A lot of it depends on where we pick, and all the other draft variables. I haven't bothered to see who's going to be in FA, as far as OL goes, but hopefully Poles (or whoever) can sign a quality dude from another team. But, as far as overhauling the line goes, I think you absolutely have to keep some of your pieces there. And while I'm far from determined we should get a good lineman in the first, I think the bulk of the next draft should tilt that way. Poles needs to stop drafting DBs highly all the time.
My mother's love was inexplicably linked to kickball.
