Almost like we should have traded down, got an extra pick, then taken Verse in the first and Roman Wilson in the third, huh? :D

A lot of it depends on where we pick, and all the other draft variables. I haven't bothered to see who's going to be in FA, as far as OL goes, but hopefully Poles (or whoever) can sign a quality dude from another team. But, as far as overhauling the line goes, I think you absolutely have to keep some of your pieces there. And while I'm far from determined we should get a good lineman in the first, I think the bulk of the next draft should tilt that way. Poles needs to stop drafting DBs highly all the time.
Hey I fucking LOVED Jared Verse

Not even at Goldy's? Sure it's a diner, and sure I've only really blown through town, and sure the other thing I know about consuming things in Boise is that you can have a drink and smoke a dart at the Basque Cultural Center, but...Goldy's is awesome.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

FWIW, tankathon.com has our first four picks as:

9. Kelvin Banks Jr. - OT - Texas
36. Donovan Jackson - iOL - Ohio State
40. J.T. Tuimoloau - EDGE - Ohio State
73. Sebastian Castro - S - Iowa

I'm sure the first three picks will be some combination of two offensive linemen and a defensive lineman, so this jives.

Couple names I’m intrigued by …granted, it’s early.

Abdul Carter….Guys fast off the edge and will get stronger

Nic Scourton- Wins with speed and power

Couple DTs I’m eying in the second..Grant from Michigan and Deone Walker from Kentucky.

TY Hamilton, DT in the 3rd.

I started poking around several mock draft sites and the top 5 guys appear to be pretty well defined, and we won't be picking Top 5, so I'd remove these guys from our wish lists....

Roughly in this order, but the top 5 consistently are:

Shadeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, and Mason Graham. We should be picking 9th, so that means we need one of Campbell or Banks to slide past the next 3 picks, which seems like pretty good odds - but of course Bears.

I’m trading down in R1. We need more picks in rounds 1-3.

Jalon Walker has been growing on me. He’s of the Parsons mold where he lines up everywhere. If we hire Flores, I could see him liking Walker. He probably had influence in Minny drafting Dallas Turner, who is a similar type player, as well.

I like Walker a lot too. I’m holding off on looking at draft stuff until I know what systems the Bears will be running.

If as being reported Brax will be out 9 to 12 months, LT jumps to the top of the list regardless of offensive system.

If I'm the Bears I'm signing a solid veteran FA at LT.

I think the tendon rupture was just bullshit speculation. It's just a broken ankle.

This draft seems to be a year of quality in the areas we need, but very few near locks....

If you can get an extra 2nd for moving down in the first, I'm all for it as we need so much on the lines...Defensive and Offensive. The more I read about it and watch it, it seems that the DL depth is really strong first two rounds... so while I want a new OL... I will understand if it's DL picks early... Sadly we need both and going to be tough to fill even with all the cap and picks...

I'm still prioritizing a LT in the first.

Bears are going to have to buy their OL this offseason (for the most part). Sign two and draft two, then bring back Shelton. It's going to be expensive, but the Bears can't afford not to spend the money.

Here are some day 3 guys I really like:

Cam Skattebo (RB Arizona State)
DeMonte Capeheart (DT Clemson)
Upton Stout - a crazy little CB (Western Kentucky)

A quick preliminary look at the draft suggests that DT, Edge, and RB are the three deepest positions in the draft, followed by IOL, CB, and TE.

Interior OL is really solid through Day 3, especially with guys who are likely to move inside in the NFL, but OT quality won't last much past Day 2, as is usually the case – if you want one, even as a developmental guy, you need to land him by pick 100. Banks Jr (Texas), Simmons (Ohio St), Ersery (Minnesota), and Conerly Jr (Oregon), maybe Nelson (Wisconsin) and possibly Belton (NC St) and Jalen Rivers (Miami) are pretty much your guys, unless perhaps Tristan Leigh (Clemson) jumps into the draft.

So JMSO, the Bears' top picks almost certainly need to go OT/Edge/DT, since DT value will last longer than Edge.

Earnest Greene III will be a good OT

Man, I just watched Will Campbell tape vs A&M, it’s not good. I’ll keep looking, but as of now, no way am I taking him top 10 as he might be better suited as a guard.

I’m really falling for the OT from Arizona..I think he’s got serious potential.

Check out the OT from Minnesota…I’ve watched a few games ..I really like what I see.

The OT from Texas scares me…I watched some tape and …I just don’t see the strength

We just can’t take a RB this early..we have Swift and we need a short yardage back…free agency or after the 3rd.

If they can bolster the OL (God help us all if they don't), I think Roschon will be just fine as the short yardage guy, provided he can stay healthy. I'm not opposed to drafting a guy after the 3rd or picking up someone cheap in FA, but I agree with the idea that you can't afford to spend premium picks at that position this year.

I think the interior prospects in this draft are better than the tackles.
