I think it's probably Martyball Jr over Moore.Arkansasbear wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:24 amIs Kellen Moore in the mix for the Cowboys?wab wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:45 am Pats - Vrable

The Jags could very well end up with someone like Josh McCown since they didn't move on from their GM. I think with their own and current GM it very well could be the most disliked spot for anyone to land. People very well could think, I'll just pull and Ben Johnson and wait this one out. Also, if McCarthy and Carroll don't land another gig (I think you nailed it on where they will end up) they might be willing to go there.Arkansasbear wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:24 amIs Kellen Moore in the mix for the Cowboys?wab wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:45 am Pats - Vrable

Sounds like the Jags are leaning towards Saleh. Which is a super weird choice given the offense they've built. Cowboys seem to be leaning towards promoting Schottenheimer.
Jags reporters are spiraling to the point they are hoping Pete Carroll doesn't take the Raiders job.

The Raiders are hiring Tampa executive John Spytek as GM. He was there when Brady played for the team. Looks like Brady's influence is getting more pervasive.
Suprise, suprise: Josh McDaniel is close to being hired as the Pats OC.

It appears that Liam Coen passing on the Jags HC job may have been the last straw for Shad Khan.
As others have pointed out, Baalke is said to be difficult to work with.

Hmm, it's almost as though Baalke was keeping Cohen from thinking about a job in Jacksonville.

Meanwhile Jags fans are treating him like the second coming (for getting Baalke fired). Extremely funny situation to be watching from the outside.

I don't see him changing his mind as a problem. He hadn't signed the contract with the Bucs and the Jags made him a compelling second offer. Bidness be bidness.

Yeah, Florio made a good argument today for the Bucs, in the past, not exactly being saints either:
When it comes to coaching, teams do what’s right for them. And the Buccaneers have a history of some eyebrow-raising decisions in the “best interests of the team,” from abruptly firing Jon Gruden and quickly promoting defensive backs coach Raheem Morris in 2009 to going outside the box for Rutgers coach Greg Schiano in 2012 to firing Lovie Smith in 2016 and promoting offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter at a time when other teams were interested in hiring Koetter to the late-March “retirement” of Bruce Arians in 2022 after the unretirement of Tom Brady. Coaches, in turn, can do what’s right for them, too.
