Hoping for an exciting game tonight. The Saturday night tilt between the USA and Canada was some of the best hockey I have seen. There loss against Sweden was pretty good hockey as well. I thought the crowd was dead ASF.

I am not a fan of the Tkachuks but I guess I have to root for them for one more game.

Here's to hoping Connor Hellyebuck can keep his game on point tonight.

What a game. Completely forgot that this was an all-star game: it was sloppy in stretches, but on the most important level it was a war.

All the sweeter that the good guys won.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.

It was a helluva game as were all the games I saw. USA had plenty of chances last night to put it away and didn't. I told my wife when the 3rd period started it would go to OT and Canada would win. Canada's team was kick ass. The talent on that team! I believe they were more talented than the USA.

Now I can go back to despising the Tkachuks. Felt dirty rooting for them.

Jeebus, they were pricks every time I saw them. I mean, I knew they were pricks, but I thought the tournament might tamp down their prickishness a bit. No chance.

@karhu one of them deals where you love if they are on your team, but if not, you can't stand them. I have never liked those two. Matt seems to always try to go around with guys much smaller than him or guys who do not drove the gloves.

They kind of remind me of bigger Andrew Shaw.

I see the comparison, but part of what made Andrew Shaw Andrew Shaw is that he didn't have any obvious physical advantage against most of the guys he tangled with, and was smaller than most of them. He had something more intimidating than just size and a sense of entitlement, and that's a lot easier to root for than a cheap-shotting 220-pound oaf.

My ten-year-old shook the windows celebrating. Which is weird, because I remember having to silently lose my shit back in 2015 for fear of waking him up (his brother is two years older, and 2013 was worse).

Why would you want the USA to lose?

Didn’t know if was that or you where a hockey guy and liked the Canadian players more.

I don’t follow hockey at all (not a big
Sport down here) so I just wanted the US to win.
