Jimmy Johnson has announced his retirement from Fox Sports after 31 years. Johnson is one of the few coaches to win a national college championship and Super Bowls. He was one of the most astute judges of talent I've seen. Jerry Jones getting rid of Jimmy after 2 SB wins because Jimmy rightly got the credit for building that team that Barry Switzer also took to a SB is one of the biggest FU in the NFL.

Probably the best HC that gets talked about the least. Trade value chart for draft was pioneering. I’m sure Fox will make the pregame crew even more people to the detriment of quality but enjoyed him and wish him the best.

So long Coach Jimmy! Thank you for 31 years of making game day a bit more interesting.
Bears are actually dating the Prom Queen, who would have thought it?

I'm lucky enough to have been just getting into really understanding football when JJ was coaching the Cowboys. They are kind of insufferable now, but man were they fun back then.

To be fair, they were insufferable then too. But insufferable and fun is so much better than insufferable and dull.wab wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:16 am I'm lucky enough to have been just getting into really understanding football when JJ was coaching the Cowboys. I'm sure people thought the 85 Bears were insufferable too... but yes it makes it much more palatable when it's fun.

I was living in College Station, TX and my friends were all Cowboy fans. Totally insufferable but we had good SB parties. JJ was Jerry's single biggest mistake, the guy could identify talent like few others. I put him up there with Belichick.thunderspirit wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:31 amTo be fair, they were insufferable then too.
