Only an hour after they announced they'd released Tyler Lockett too.

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

And what sort of contract would you offer him? He's only got one year left with a base salary of $18m and his last deal was 3 years at $24m a year.

Trade him to NE. Actually, I'd think Pete Carroll might be interested.

Yeah - he seems ticketed for the Raiders. Just depends on the cost.

He's comparable to DJ Moore statistically, so that would be a rough starting point. But that's a lot of cash.
Quite frankly, I'm going into this just wanting him for the 1 year 18 mil, and the contract he gets after that would pretty much net us a 3rd round pick.
If he paid dividends (superbowl appearance), and wanted to stay, I'd offer 18-20 mil per for 3 years with stat incentives

With Geno joining up with Pete Carroll in LV, that may be where this guy ends up. Seattle South so to speak.
Bears are actually dating the Prom Queen, who would have thought it?
What alternate universe is this?
Did I fall down the wrong trouser leg of time?

New price reported to be a 2nd round pick, originally they wanted a 1st and 3rd round. Plus you still have to play him money. Article mentions the Steelers but I'd think they need a QB before they grab a second WR.

Yeah I was dead wrong, unless the Steelers have done some tampering and have a QB signing to announce tomorrow.

Yesterday, when I was looking up who it was that Russell Wilson supplanted in Seattle (Matt Flynn), the article I read talked about the "big" contract that Matt Flynn just signed in 2012. The contract was 3 years for $19.5MM. Just absurd what guys are getting paid right now (even if much of it will never actually be paid out).

I wonder what percentage, on average, actually gets paid out of the top contracts handed out each year. It would be kind of neat to track that over time.

I remember being floored about Flynn's contract. But what he was making in 3 years any FA QB is likely making in a year or less.

I was living in Seattle at the time. They signed Flynn pretty much on the strength of one game. Big ass contract for the time. And then beat out by a 3rd round draft pick. He may be one the Steelers will be wishing they still had if Rodgers doesn't sign with them.

I'd say they will be wishing for him even if Rodgers DOES sign with them.
