Figured I'd sticky a thread for Bears related rumors. I imagine we will still have an individual thread for each signing though.

I don't know if Williams or Sweat are a fit (size/length).Brad Biggs wrote:The Bears have the cap space and flexibility to pursue both Dalman and a marquee player for the defensive line, maybe tackle Milton Williams or end Josh Sweat of the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts end Dayo Odeyingbo or perhaps a veteran such as former Bears edge rusher Khalil Mack.
One player personnel director for another team predicted the two trades for offensive linemen might signal that the Bears are pivoting to the defensive line as the free-agent negotiating window opens Monday. In an ideal world, they would get a player who is on the right side of 30 and is entering his second contract and the prime years of his career.
Dayo Odeyingbo makes a ton of sense, but the price has to be right.
Khalil Mack is too old, honestly.

I don’t see Sweat/Williams as fits but I do like Williams.
Bosa piqued my interest for sure.

Sooooooooooo
Jones or Amegadjie/Thuney/Dalman/Jackson/Wright
Thoughts? That's a lot of cheddar but it ostensibly wipes OL as a need right off the map for the draft. Likely would see DL, DL, RB and then depth is my guess.
I don't hate it!

I like Hendrickson…and if he was 2 years younger I’d give up 10 overall ..but you cannot give up the 10th overall pick for a guy that is 30 and wants 30-35 mill per season. It’s bad business when you can get a pretty good edge guy in the first and 2nd

This would be our best OL since our last SB appearance. Mark my words and tear me to pieces if I'm wrong here, but watch what happens if this line stays reasonably healthy. It will be an immediate turnaround. We will win a ton of games and score a fuck ton of points.G08 wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 4:23 pm

A little. Especially for the 15million per year he's probably going to get.
It's why I prefer Josh Myers even if he's a bit of a lesser player (although I'm not convinced it's by much).

Other than his health, I don't know that I've seen anything signaling any red flags about him?

Myers is a lesser athlete, for sure. I don't know know that he's a lesser player than Dalman, though.wab wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 4:45 pmA little. Especially for the 15million per year he's probably going to get.

Of the two, I'd prefer Myers, but that's just, you know, my opinion, man.

FWIW - Nate Tice and Robert Mays both disliked the fit of Dalman and the Bears and beyond fit Nate Tice just isn’t a fan of Dalman. Conversely Matt Bowen was on Hoge & Jahns and absolutely loves Dalman and thinks the Bears absolutely should go after him.
So what the fuck do I know?

Oh my...
I can see it now:
- Hendrickson is traded for leaving DT as the last major hole to fill
- Dalman is signed in FA
- Jeanty is taken in R1
- DT with pick #2
- BPA from there...

I’d be interested in Hendrickson, but it depends on what the trade compensation is. He’s like 30 I think so I don’t know what he’d even be worth.
Maybe Hendrickson and the Bengals R1 to hop up to 10?

Myles Garrett is 29, Trey is 30.
Last 5 years (huge sample): Trey 70.5 sacks and Myles 72
Why is Myles being talked about for multiple R1s and Trey is being discussed for a single R2?
(and yes, despite Garrett is saying it's not about money ... you still are going to have to pay him new money)

Man I don't want to trade a high pick for a 31-year-old with one year left on his deal.
I don't hate @wab's idea of swapping #10 for Hendrickson and #17.
Still... Age plus price is rough.

Because Garrett is a complete end who is just as dominant against the run as he is the pass. Hendrickson is a much better pass rusher than he is a run defender (though to be fair he isn’t bad in run defense - he just isn’t nearly as good as Garrett).wulfy wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:00 pm Myles Garrett is 29, Trey is 30.

I get that but .... that's a HUGE gap in compensation. (If either is accurate).Magilla_Gorilla wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:34 pmBecause Garrett is a complete end who is just as dominant against the run as he is the pass. FWIW I don’t think Cleveland is getting multiple firsts for Garrett.
Assuming they trade him at all.
