And...didn't the Browns have cap problems?

I don't get it. How are they going to function? Do they cut everybody they can except for Garrett and Watson?
At least the Bears aren't functioning at that level ... anymore.Heinz D. wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:00 pmI don't get it. How are they going to function? Do they cut everybody they can except for Garrett and Watson?
Are they honestly going to rebuild around a DE who's on the wrong side of 30?
What the hell is going on in Cleveland?
I'm not convinced that they would have a worse record starting a rookie than with Watson, but isn't it basically impossible to cut him? If they cut him, don't they owe him way more than they have in cap space? Over the cap shows a -$135MM cap savings (lmao holy shit) if cut now.dplank wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 3:02 pm I don't know why the HC there is so revered. I know he has a bunch of fans on this board, but I just don't get it. They need a complete gut and rebuild there, they should just cut Watson and take an 0-17 year on the chin and get past this mess. Signing Garrett makes absolutely no sense to me.
They are stuck with him for next season, I would look for him to be a post June 1 cut in 26 by the looks of his contract.LacertineForest wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:02 pmI'm not convinced that they would have a worse record starting a rookie than with Watson, but isn't it basically impossible to cut him? In all honesty when you already have career earnings of $125m with more to come what does money matter?Otis Day wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 9:09 pm So much for Garrett wanting to play for a winner. It is always about the money. I guess you need to get it when you can. But he looks like a schmuck IMO.
The Browns might consider sending massage therapists to his home wearing a hidden bodycam, that ought to do the trick.southdakbearfan wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:14 pmThey are stuck with him for next season, I would look for him to be a post June 1 cut in 26 by the looks of his contract.LacertineForest wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:02 pm

I am sure they are praying he has enough legal issues to potentially void his contract.
