And...didn't the Browns have cap problems?

I don't get it. How are they going to function? Do they cut everybody they can except for Garrett and Watson?

Are they honestly going to rebuild around a DE who's on the wrong side of 30?

What the hell is going on in Cleveland?

At least the Bears aren't functioning at that level ... anymore.

Pretty sure the Browns restructured Watson’s contract and freed up a bunch of money.

I don't know why the HC there is so revered. I know he has a bunch of fans on this board, but I just don't get it. They need a complete gut and rebuild there, they should just cut Watson and take an 0-17 year on the chin and get past this mess. Signing Garrett makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'm not convinced that they would have a worse record starting a rookie than with Watson, but isn't it basically impossible to cut him? If they cut him, don't they owe him way more than they have in cap space? Over the cap shows a -$135MM cap savings (lmao holy shit) if cut now.

They are stuck with him for next season, I would look for him to be a post June 1 cut in 26 by the looks of his contract.

I am sure they are praying he has enough legal issues to potentially void his contract.

So much for Garrett wanting to play for a winner. It is always about the money. I guess you need to get it when you can. But he looks like a schmuck IMO.

In all honesty when you already have career earnings of $125m with more to come what does money matter?

There are some things money can't buy... like the experience of playing in and winning a Super Bowl.

The Browns might consider sending massage therapists to his home wearing a hidden bodycam, that ought to do the trick.

That pretty much confirms it's about the money, not about winning.
